Background Removal
Automatically remove backgrounds from images using AI.
In the Editor
- Add or select an image layer
- Click Remove Background in the toolbar (or right-click menu)
- Wait for processing (usually 2-5 seconds)
- The background is replaced with transparency
Best Results
Good for:
- Product photos on solid backgrounds
- Portrait photos
- Objects with clear edges
- Simple compositions
May need refinement:
- Complex hair/fur details
- Transparent objects (glass, water)
- Shadows (may be partially removed)
- Multiple subjects
Tips
- Start with high-quality images
- Images with good contrast work best
- Use PNG format to preserve transparency
- Combine with a new background layer
After Removal
Once the background is removed, you can:
- Add a solid color background layer
- Add a gradient background
- Keep transparent for PNG exports
- Composite with other images
Example Workflow
- Upload product photo with white background
- Remove background → transparent
- Add brand-colored rectangle behind product
- Export as PNG or place on marketing template
Limitations
- Processing time varies with image complexity
- Very fine details (individual hairs) may not be perfect
- Works best with clear subject/background separation
