What Gets Imported

  • ✅ Text layers (fonts, colors, sizes)
  • ✅ Image layers
  • ✅ Shape layers (rectangles, circles)
  • ✅ Background colors
  • ✅ Layer positions and sizes
  • ⚠️ Some complex effects may need adjustment

After Import

  1. Review the imported template in the Editor
  2. Rename layers to meaningful names for API use
  3. Adjust any elements that didn't import perfectly
  4. Save your template

Tips

  • Use simple, clean designs for best results
  • Complex animations won't transfer
  • Premium Canva elements may not import (licensing)
  • Review layer names—Canva uses generic names like "Text 1"

Why Import from Canva?

  • Keep your existing Canva designs
  • Add API automation capabilities
  • Generate renders programmatically
  • Integrate with no-code platforms

Limitations

  • Some fonts may fall back to similar alternatives
  • Complex filters/effects may differ
  • Multi-page designs import as separate pages
  • Canva Pro elements require proper licensing
