Getting Started with Zapier

Automate image generation with Templated and Zapier.

Step 1: Create a Zap

1. Go to zapier.com and click Create Zap
2. Set up your Trigger (e.g., new row in Google Sheets)

Step 2: Add Templated Action

1. Click + Add Action
2. Search for "Templated"
3. Select Create Render

Step 3: Connect Your Account

1. Click Sign in to Templated
2. Enter your API Key
3. Click Yes, Continue

Step 4: Configure the Action

1. Template: Select from dropdown or enter ID
2. Format: Choose jpg, png, pdf, or mp4
3. Layers: Add layer modifications

• Layer Name: The exact name from your template
• Property: text, color, image_url, etc.
• Value: Static or mapped from trigger

Example Zap

New Shopify Order → Generate Thank You Card → Email Customer

1. Trigger: Shopify — New Order
2. Action: Templated — Create Render

• Map customer name to title_text
• Map order number to order_text

3. Action: Gmail — Send Email with attachment

Mapping Dynamic Data

Use Zapier's data mapper to insert trigger values:

• Click in a field
• Select a value from your trigger (e.g., "Customer Name")
• Zapier inserts it as {{customer_name}}

Tips

• Test your Zap with sample data first
• Use Zapier's formatter to transform data if needed
• Check your credit usage in Templated dashboard
