Understanding Credits and Quotas

Templated uses a credit-based system to track your API usage.

How Credits Work

• 1 credit = 1 render (for images and PDFs)
• Video renders cost more credits based on duration, resolution, and FPS
• Credits are included in your subscription plan
• Unused credits do not roll over to the next month

Video Credit Calculation

Video credits are calculated using this formula:

Credits = (Width × Height × FPS × Duration in seconds) / 50,000,000

Example: A 1920×1080 video at 30 FPS for 10 seconds:

• (1920 × 1080 × 30 × 10) / 50,000,000 = 12.4 credits (rounded up to 13)

Checking Your Usage

1. Go to your Dashboard
2. Your usage is shown in the sidebar: X / Y credits used
3. Or go to Account → Billing for detailed usage

What Happens When You Run Out?

• API requests return a 403 Forbidden error
• You'll see: "API quota exceeded. Upgrade your plan to generate more renders."
• Upgrade your plan or wait for the monthly reset
