"Account Requests: Email, Password, 2FA, Delete Account, Restore or Transfer Templates"

Some changes you can do yourself in Account Settings. Others are done by our team. For those, this article lists exactly what to send in the chat.

Change your password

If you are logged in:

  1. Go to Account Settings (https://app.templated.io/account).
  2. In Profile Information, click Change Password.

If you forgot your password:

  1. Go to the login page and click Forgot password (https://app.templated.io/forgot-password).
  2. Enter your account email.
  3. Open the email and follow the link to set a new password. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.

If you created your account with Sign in with Google, just use the Google button to log in.

Change your account email

The account email cannot be changed in the app. Our team does it for you.

Send in the chat:

  • Your current account email.
  • The new email you want to use.

Send the request from your current account email, or while logged in, so we can confirm it's you.

This also works for accounts that use Google login. After the change, log in with Google using the new email.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

You can protect your account with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password and others).

Turn on 2FA:

  1. Go to Account Settings (https://app.templated.io/account).
  2. Find the Two-factor authentication section and click Enable.
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from the app to confirm.
  5. Save your recovery codes somewhere safe. Each code can be used once to log in if you lose your phone.

Turn off 2FA: Account Settings > Two-factor authentication > Disable, then enter a code from your app or a recovery code.

2FA applies to login with email and password. If you sign in with Google, your Google account's own security settings protect the login.

Lost your phone and your recovery codes? Ask in the chat from your account email. Our team will verify your identity and help you.

Delete your account (GDPR / data deletion)

Account deletion is done by our team.

Send in the chat (or by email to support@templated.io) from your account email:

  • The account email you want to delete.
  • A short confirmation that you want the account and all its data permanently deleted.

Before deleting:

  • Cancel your subscription first (see "Cancel, Pause or Refund Your Subscription").
  • Download any renders you want to keep. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Restore a deleted template

Our team can restore templates that were deleted. The restored template keeps the same template ID, so your API calls and integrations keep working.

Send in the chat:

  • Your account email.
  • The template ID (or the template name if you don't have the ID) and roughly when it was deleted.

Go back to an older version of a template

You can do this yourself in the editor:

  1. Open the template in the editor.
  2. Open the File menu and choose Version history.
  3. Preview an older version and restore it.

If the version you need is not there, ask in the chat with your account email and the template ID.

Transfer templates to another account

Our team can move templates from one Templated account to another.

Rules:

  • At least one of the two accounts must be on a paid plan. Transfers between two free accounts are not possible.
  • The receiving account must have room in its template limit.

Send in the chat:

  • The email of the account that has the templates.
  • The email of the account that should receive them.
  • The template IDs to move (or "all templates").

Make the request from the account that owns the templates, or from both accounts.

Alternative: if you want to work together with someone, you don't need a transfer. Invite them to your team instead. See "Team Members and Invitations".

Multiple accounts

  • Creating several accounts to get more free credits is not allowed by our Terms. When we detect it, API access for those accounts is suspended.
  • If you need more credits, upgrade your plan at https://app.templated.io/upgrade.
  • Using automated tools (such as headless browsers) to scrape or extract the editor is not allowed.
  • If you have two accounts by mistake (for example one with Google login and one with email), ask in the chat. Our team can help you move templates to the account you want to keep.
